Welcome! Well, I finally flipped the switch! For years I’ve been wanting to put myself out there. I’ve wanted to create a space where I could share what I’ve learned about nutrition and diet…about living a healthful life, about trying to balance it all. I’ve learned so much through my journey to becoming who I am today and while I love sharing it with my amazing clients, family and friends, I want to share it with all of you! Finally, here she is….my blog, www.janinewhiteson.com.

By day, I’m a passionate nutritionist to clients whom I hold near and dear to my heart, but man, I wear a lot of other hats too! I’m a mom to two boys (Harris and Ellis), wife to Jonathan (a doctor based in NYC), and a serial sharer of all things “healthful”. My reasons behind pursuing a career in health and nutrition are deeply personal. I want to share those reasons with you! I want to share all of the things I’ve learned not only through my health struggles and hospital stays, but also my health and wellness triumphs, too. More on those hospital stays and all the health issues I have overcome on the blog next week!

I’m a working mom, (whether my boys want to believe that or not!), and it’s really important to me to create a healthy home for my family. Over the years, I’ve learned some great “mom hacks” that have made that a little easier for me and I’d love to share them with all of you.  Are you sensing a trend here? I want to share, share, share!

My goal is that www.janinewhiteson.com will also be able to provide hope for people struggling—whether it be someone that is struggling with a serious health issue like the one I have overcome, someone struggling with their weight or maybe it’s just a mom that’s struggling to find healthy recipes to put on the table for her family each night.

Somedays I hope to take a serious approach and offer real clinical advice on things like lowering your blood pressure without medicine (!), while other days I may just offer a delicious and healthful recipe (with a pretty picture!) that I think your family will love! I want to share tips for eating out while remaining healthy, I want to share my favorite products on the market that had made this working moms life easier, I want to share my favorite snacks and the recipes that have really helped me get and stay in shape! If I love it and it has worked, I want to share it with you!!!

You will see, my approach to diet and nutrition will always remain the same. Diet isn’t all about waist trimming; it centers on a wholesome approach to living a healthful life. I believe that eating healthfully doesn’t have to be a hassle and that small changes in diet and daily habits can have a huge impact on your heath and overall well-being.

I sincerely hope that this blog creates a community…an empowering community of people that will return each week to really learn how to treat their bodies with kindness.
